This project was created with the main objective to contribute to the innovation market in snacks and to encourage diversification towards high value products.It is carried out in cooperation between a company dedicated to the manufacture of snacks, GREFUSA S.A. (LIDER) with extensive experience in the use of technology expansion in grain and flour extrusion technologies; a producer of seeds as RAMIRO ARNEDO S.A. with great experience in improving and production of different crops; a research center as UNIVERSITY OF ALMERIA, experienced in handling tools for genetic analysis and molecular marker-assisted selection in crops; and a public research organization as MISIÓN BIOLÓGICA DE GALICIA-CSIC with experience in conservation and characterization of plant genetic resources as well as in breeding programs for disease tolerance.
